Art Masterpiece
This Art Masterpiece program is a volunteer-parent driven program which, in keeping with the OLPH school mission "to create life long learners", inspires interest in the Arts at an early age. Workshops, lesson plans and teaching suggestions are provided. The Phoenix Art Museum supports the program with annual workshops and teaching materials.
The Scope and sequence of the Art Masterpiece program includes:
- Kindergarten: Introduction to art masterpieces
- 1st Grade: Identifying subject matter in art
- 2nd Grade: Elements of art
- 3rd Grade: Fantasy and imagination
- 4th Grade: Styles of Artists
- 5th Grade: American art and artists
The fruits of labor from the students are displayed at our annul Art Walk held in May on the OLPH school campus.
The Art Masterpiece program supports and enriches the student experience. Volunteer opportunities are available in many levels of participation in the program. Art experience is not necessary.
